Tough lessons

Yes, it was a rather difficult night for Andrea Bargnani, just 4-for-15 from the floor, but it was an important night nonetheless.

Without Bosh, he spent an awful lot of time down low, either flashing to the middle of the lane looking for a pass or setting up in the low post as their inside presence.

And unlike any of the other teams he’s played without the security blanket of Bosh to make things easier for him, the Knicks were aggressively doubling him, sending a second defender almost on the catch.

He didn’t handle it particularly well for one very simple reason: He’s not used to it and it’s hard. Said Jay:

“He’s the focal point of the other team’s defence now so he’s facing traps, which he hasn’t seen before. We got him to get (the ball) out a couple of times and he didn’t have to make a play. That’s when we started swinging it.”

It’s all part and parcel of Bargnani’s learning curve, seeing different defensive schemes as he becomes more of a post presence, and dealing with it. It’s going to take time. But to his credit, he seems impervious to pressure and bad nights and isn’t going to shy away from taking his shots, as we saw when he made a big baseline jumper late in the game.

difficilmente scriverò molto, perchè la mia passione per il basket nba è rinverdita solo ultimamente con i nostri, e non ho la grande competenza che riscontro in molti post.

Il primo effettivamente fa pena,ma il secondo almeno a me va bene...
