I'd like to think OKC can still be competitive even without Ibaka. They'll miss his 3pters and shot-blocking obviously, but Ellis and Lillard have shown you can penetrate the Spurs' defense and score. If Westbrook can draw defenders to the rim, Durant, Butler and Fisher will get some open shots. No one probably gives a second thought about Collison and Adams, but I think their impact can offset the depth of the Spurs' bench. Sure they no longer have Harden but Jackson has killed it against the Spurs in the RS. I think it would be a great move if Brooks inserts Jackson in the starting line up and makes Durant defend Duncan.

Pronto ad essere smentito, naturalmente.

I'm not trying to prove you wrong though. SA has been absolute machine-like on offense and I don't see anyone being able to stop them until they get what they want.

The plan of game that you designe for OKlahoma is interesting, but i have doubts that Brooks has such a versatility, for example, to substitute Sefolosha with Jackson in the starting five, or that Westbrook could serve often good passes ( or even extrapasses ) to create open shots for his teammaters: he is a great offense/ difense player but not a real point guard.
I also doubt that Adams, Collison , Butler and Fisher could make a great score not only in the whole series but also in a single match.
In my opinion the great lack of the Thunders is that the team was built to surrender K D and Westbrook with specialists ( expecially of defense game, after the loose of Harden ) and not with many versatility players like San Antonio has , for example.
Of course Oklahoma is competitive against every team, with that two phenomenical players, but I think that to win the ring is necessary to have a real point guard and a centre more tecnical and versatility than Perkins is.
In my opinion Westbrook must play only like a shooting guard : he couldn't make the director of the team.
It is the true that Tony Parker isn't a great defender on Westbrook ( but Manu Ginobili is a better difender) and that to defende to K D will be a great problem( perhaps with Leonard) ...
It will be interesting to see which solutions Popovich will show.

If you think about it, you could switch out KD and Westbrook for LBJ and Wade (hell, even Ibaka plays similar to Bosh) and it's uncanny how similar OKC is to Miami. Miami has shown twice over that you don't need true position players so long as you've got two of the best players in the league.

I agree Westbrook has his limitations as PG, but would you agree he outplayed Chris Paul in the semis?

I think Miami plays more like a team compared to OKC, and that's why they won 2 rings.

I am agree that Westbrook engaged very hard CP3 in defense work, so Paul wasn't so brillant to direct the team especially in the last two matches , but i'have also the same opinion of Wisconsin: Miami isn't comparable to Oklahoma , because LBJ is a foward point while K D isn't, and he directs his teamaters better than Westbrook makes.
In my opinion LBJ is the most complete player of the league because he can play in four positions, and often Miami at its best plays with LBJ like a four and Bosh like a five , while Oklahoma has two inside players almost static like Perkins and Ibaka , however incomparable with the couple of Miami....
I love versatile players and not the specialists like in american culture of basket often happens, and i think that the four italian players in Nba were often in trouble because they are that kind of versatile players.
In general I prefer the sistem of game of Popovich that is based on inside-outside game with the law of extrapass, so every player is obliged to be in a certain way a point guard for his teammates, while the sistem of Brooks is on the opposite....
Yesterday also Indiana played at the Popovich way, and dominated a ugly Miami.
Kd and Wes can outplay the big three of San Antonio in atleticism and youth, but the sistem and the roster of texans can provide to that lack.
We 'll see ....

magician, I appreciate what you say.

I never meant to make a direct comparison between OKC and the Heat, just that neither uses a conventional line-up: the Heat plays without a true center and the Thunder without a PG.

I disagree that the Thunder do not play as a team. I remember when Marco and the Warriors played against Durant in Oklahoma City, both were in their 2nd year, coached at that time by Carlesimo. Of course they were a terrible team then, but they have grown and gotten better and more importantly the roster has remained intact, a very rare thing for an NBA team nowadays. They are still a young team and yet, so old in their wisdom.

Like you, I have enjoyed watching the Spurs this year. They are an amazing team to watch and Pop has an inherent understanding of each of his players. His greatness comes from not so much fitting the players into a rigid system, but adapting to what he has at hand.

Yes! I cannot wait to see which team comes out on top in this WCF. It's a wonderful match-up, a clash of two very different systems, different styles of coaching and types of athleticism.

forza ragazzi, è solo inglese, mica cinese...
a me questo scambio in inglese fra Magician3 e Sundance è piaciuto e l'ho trovato molto centrato nelle questioni e nelle risposte, grazie Sundance to be come back, i like your expertise.
i've got a question for you: "how you think Beli can be efficient/helpful in this series against OKC players?"
(ho domandato a Sundance, ma lo domando ovviamente a tutti, in che modo Beli possa essere d'impatto e utile nella serie"

Sefolosha semplicemente scandaloso, tre open shot conclusi orrendamente... Westbrook lo segue a ruota con quel layup. San Antonio non ha sbagliato niente fino ad ora, fanno schifo talmente sono ordinati.

I'm not sure I know how to answer you. Marco is very good at reading defenses. He can score a variety of ways and has become a very good rebounder. Honestly that last part I never thought I'd ever say that about him. On the other hand, it's apparent Pop doesn't ask a whole lot of him. He's not Manu, he's not Danny, he's not Patty. He has been more of a facilitator in the postseason than anything else. I'm hopeful by next year (the benefit of having a multiyear contract!) Pop trusts him enough to give him a bigger role on offense.

I will say this though, Fisher is a better defender than I give him credit for.

P.S sefo veramente osceno
