Che non vede come i Raptors possano avere ambizioni di qualche tipo dato che sono la 5° squadra dell' atlantic conference e non avendo speranze di scalare neanche solo al 4° posto.

piu' che altro, una squadra di passatori. Forse se li metti tutti assieme arrivano a 10 assist.
Comunque cose interessanti se andate su hoopshype: Colangelo a chiaramente detto che e' disponibilissimo a tradare Andrea ma "non tanto per farlo". Ha aggiunto che Andrea non ha chiesto la trade (balla colossale) ma che non si oppone all'idea.
Penso che il Brian vglia mettere su la squadra veloce che voleva a inizio anno. Se togli Andrea e tieni Amir in campo, ti ritrovi con Lowry, Topexan, Gay, Johnson, Val. Sicuramente corrono di piu' che con Jose' e il Mago. Vedremo...

How have your last two weeks been?

Obviously, the trade was a surprise. I’m just trying to fit in here and get used to the system and feel my way around.

What was your initial reaction to the trade? Had you heard about the rumours beforehand?

I heard the rumours. I didn’t really think much of it. Especially because it was my first time being traded, I didn’t know what to expect. When it first happened, I was hurt. Coming in the locker room, it was tough on me. But that’s over with. I’m just looking forward to this team and going to the playoffs.

Did it teach you the business side of the league?
Like I said, I was surprised. I didn’t think I was going to be traded. But everything happens for a reason.

Is it tough to play for the Grizzlies, playing behind Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol?

In a way, but I’m just trying to learn a lot from them. I’m just really trying to gain everything I can from them, especially two all-stars, watching everything they do and picking up things from them.

What was your first conversation like with coach [Lionel] Hollins?
Just play hard and be aggressive and everything will work out.

In the aftermath of the trade in Toronto, a lot of people said you put yourself in a position to be traded for a player like Rudy Gay because of your good season. Did that provide any solace?

I never really looked at it like that. After the trade, I was like, ‘All right, I’m with a new team now. I’ll try to get in the rotation and try to help the team out.’

What’s the transition been like?

It’s been a little tough. Especially playing behind two all-stars, sometimes the minutes are not there. I’m just coming in every day and working hard. My time will come.

How has the transition been off the court?
That’s the easy stuff. You have people to help you do that. That’s the easy stuff.

Does it hurt particularly because you’d made a home in Toronto, and become close with DeMar [DeRozan] and Amir [Johnson]?
Especially just the relationship I have with DeMar. We’re best friends. Not being around him every day, it’s tough. Like you said, it’s the business. You’ve just got to take it as it is.

Have you and DeMar been exchanging texts leading up to this game?
We talk every day, on the phone or text messages or whatever. I look forward to seeing him.

Will it be strange to be out there playing against them?
It will be at first. After that, it will be straight.

What’s the day been like, being back here?
It’s been kind of weird, especially coming in and driving past my own spot. I’m just looking forward to the game tonight.

Does being only a few weeks removed from the trade add to the emotional aspect of the game?
Especially just seeing all the people who work here, being in the city of Toronto after I was gone for two-and-a-half or three weeks or whatever, it’s tough. But it’s a business. It is what it is.

Non può essere vero, non possono essere così scemi.
Dai magari confermano Casey e tradano il miglior giocatore della loro squadra (Andrea) in cambio di niente. Poi magari vanno ai playoff perchè quello attuale è effettivamente il miglior roster dopo anni. Sono finalmente senza buchi neri in quintetto in almeno due ruoli. Con Val e Gay hanno per la prima volta un pivot e un'ala piccola che si possono definire tali.
