Dimentichiamoci questi sfigati canadesi (almeno fino agli scontri diretti), si stanno esaltando per Hansbrough dicendo che lui sì che è un duro, mica come Bargnani... e secondo me gli rode che il Mago è andato in una grande squadra e loro si beccano rifiuti da giocatori pensionati (Camby) e wrestler travestiti da giocatori (Hansbrough).

Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he believes Andrea Bargnani will turn over a new leaf in the Big Apple now that’s he gone from The Maple Leaf of Canada.

The Toronto Raptors were desperate to get rid of Bargnani, who had fallen out of favor with Canadian fans after failing to live up to being the No. 1 pick in the draft. The trade was approved by the NBA on Wednesday.

The Knicks believe with their player-development staff, they will get the 7-foot Bargnani back on track as he’ll wear a new number – 77.

“I don’t knock anybody’s camp and what they’re doing,’’ Woodson said Wednesday before the Knicks summer league practice at UNLV. “Fact he was available was good enough for me. I thought Bargnani has the opportunity to get back on his game with us. I’ll put him in the best position I can to see that happens in terms of him being successful in helping us win.

“Players go through ups and downs,’’ Woodson added. “That’s behind him. It’s a new slate in terms of him being in a Knick uniform.’’

The addition of Bargnani is the chief reason the Knicks believe this has been a good summer despite not signing an outside free agent. Woodson’s only critique is Bargnani’s lackluster rebounding numbers.

“I’m very excited about it,’’ Woodson said. “He’s a talented kid who has some good years in the league in the early stage of his career. He fits everything of what I’m about in how we play and style of play. He’s a 7-foot guy who can do a lot of things – he can post, shoot from the perimeter, put it down. He’s got to get better in rebounding the ball.’’

In his career, Bargnani has averaged15.2 points on 43.7 percent shooting, but just 4.8 rebounds in 30 mpg.

Woodson said it will be a positive that Bargnani will play for Italy’s National Team in the European Championships that start Sept. 4.

One reason the Knicks badly wanted Bargnani is they are putting Amar’e Stoudemire on a minutes restriction next season. Woodson confirmed a Post report it’s a definite and said they are resting him most of summer. The Post reported after the trade Stoudemire may be on a 20-minute minutes limit and be held out of playing some back-to-backs.

“The main thing with Amar’e, he needed rest,’’ Woodson said. “Last summer, he put in a lot of time. He had some bad luck - I call it. Because he worked his ass off last summer. This summer we’re resting him and making a push to get him ready for vet camp. Then we’re going to have to monitor him through vet camp and through the season to make sure he’s there every night for us to play.’’

“Right now, as it stands, he’s going to be on some restrictions. What those restrictions will be, I don’t know yet.’’

Woodson confirmed Carmelo Anthony won’t need surgery on his small tear in his left shoulder that could’ve hampered him vs. Indiana. On June 27th, Anthony said at his community event in Red Hook he won’t need surgery.

Senza alcuna polemica ma ti evidenzio che l'intervista è fatta a Woodson che è l'allenatore dei Knicks. Si dilunga ovviamente sull'acquisto più importante, il Mago, ma parla della squadra, dell'inserimento nel gioco attuale di Andrea, di Carmelo, dei giovani, degli acquisti dei Nets, del training camp, di Amar'e.
Il posto giusto per postarla mi sembrava e sinceramente mi sembra essere maggiormente Offseason New York Knicks 2013/2014. Si parla solo dei Knicks del prossimo anno, e in questo contesto dell'impatto che potrà avere il miglior nuovo giocatore arrivato, essa non riguarda per nulla la passata stagione di Andrea. Stagione che tutti siamo ben contenti sia stra-chiusa e stra-finita e, per fortuna, con un svolta epocale.

A questo punto forse sarebbe forse il caso di aprire il forum 2013/14 giusto per non mescolare nulla che riguardi il Mago con quell'orribile franchigia Canadese. Viene quasi un rifiuto istintivo a postare dove si parla della passata stagione
