Season 2012/2013 di Marco Belinelli: cap. VI (Chicago)

Marco said at the beginning of the season he wanted to play for a team who could win a championship. He also said he was eager to play with Derrick Rose. I'm not so sure I see him walking away at this point when it's (almost) certain Rose returns next season, and the Bulls have an even better chance of making it to the EC finals.

Mike Malone will get a head coaching job somewhere and I'd love to see the two of them reunited. But other than that, the Bulls want him back, the fans love him in Chicago, and Thibs gave him alot of freedom on offense (something Monty Williams never did)...Marco can work off of what he's already done and create a kind of hybrid Jason Terry/Manu Ginobili type role off the bench.

He and Nate proved this season that the Bulls need an offensive, all-around player in the second unit, not just a one-dimensional 3pt shooter. Considering how much money the Bulls can actually spend, unless they can pull off a miracle trade, it's really Marco's call whether he's willing to take the challenge again and ignore more profitable offers, to play with the Bulls another year. I'm not saying he should, but I think it's his right to demand a bigger role in lieu of a better contract. But maybe I'm being naive about that, especially with Thibs being the way he is.

io do per scontato che in qualche modo si liberino di Boozer, i suoi 15 mln sono insostenibili

Boozer ha ancora 2 anni di contratto a 15 l'anno, se lo amnistiano quest'anno rimangono sempre sopra il cap e non possono firmare nessuno di importante. Nel 2014 scade Deng e il suo contratto da 14 l'anno + i 16 dell'ultimo anno di Boozer liberano 30 milioni dal cap e Chicago sarà finalmente libera di muoversi sul mercato. L'anno prossimo rimangono questi, solo piccoli movimenti. I Bulls non possono offrire il contratto proposto da Max a Marco perchè non ne detengono i Bird Rights(che scattano al secondo anno di permanenza), è un contratto che potrebbero offrire solo con il cap libero. Hanno a disposizione la mini-mid level exception(3 milioni) e forse la biannual exception.
